Subject: Connecticut Prime Timers IRS Status

Good News, Connecticut Prime Timers! We recently submitted an application to the IRS for designation as a public charity under IRS Section 501(c)(3) and it was approved. This is the final step in our efforts which included member approval of our revised bylaws and articles of incorporation.

We are organized:

  • To be a social and educational organization catering to the needs of mature gay, bisexual and transgender men and those who share common interests;
  • To collaborate with and provide financial support to other non-profit organizations which fall under the 501(c)(3) section of the internal revenue code and are operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes; and
  • To provide scholarships to deserving LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, etc.) students attending higher educational institutions and residing in the United States.

What this means is that Connecticut Prime Timers is exempt from federal income taxes and Individuals may take a tax deduction on a charitable gift to Connecticut Prime Timers. However, what you pay for meals at our events are not deductible, except for special events at which we will notify you how much of your registration can be deducted. If you have any questions, or would like to make a contribution, please feel free to contact me at: pbrady0750@gmail.com or
